Somewhere in my scene I am using a jpg in a material. MAX is not finding it. How can I tell what material has this jpg?

I don’t think there is a native max command to do that. But a script should exist somewhere.
Try this one on Scriptspot.com .. it could help you.

Hmmm...sounds like a Wishlist item to me. I know I’ve had to do this before, and usually just went through the Material/Map browser and searched tediously through until I found the map & material I wanted.

In the Material Editor you can click “Get Material” and then “Scene” to view all the Materials and their Image Files which are used in your scene. The screenshot is from Autodesk 3D Studio Max 2011, I believe this screen is laid out differently in older versions.
