Search resulted garbage only… point me something out if this same question has already been made.

Look at the picture.
See what I’m trying to do here?

No! It’s a wet surface!

The problem is… well, read the topic’s title… Wanna make a multi material… can’t find it.

- Shellack will make the lower surface transparent too. I don’t want that;
- Blend won’t do it;
- Composite gives me hope, but so far no combination does what two separated planes do…
Any help?

I’m thinking a combo of Zap’s clearcoat layering with this kind of wet bump map may work.

Samab, can you check the link to the “wet bump map” and see if it’s right?  I’m getting the “404 Not Found” error.

Tutorials > search for “wet” in Titles, 3ds Max/all categories/all levels - it’s the top one.

This is another thread on a releated subject, more of a modeling solution rather than layered materails.
More suitable for close ups than the bump method. Unfortunately displacement won’t work with that material setup instead of bump.

Thanx for all the answers.
The link that Steve passed shows a distinctive result, and flexible… can be done with any base material that accepts bump.
Strange I didn’t think about that… seems to be a very simple solution…

It was Samab who posted the link but it didn’t work for some reason - I just re-presented it in a form which (luckily) worked. I like praise, but only when it’s due ;)

This is odd, I always figured Chuck Norris could simply look at geometry and beads of sweat would appear automatically. :P
