I got the impression that the material explorer was for finding and dealing with materials.  Lets say I have a scene and I know for a fact that there is a material with the letters “belt” in it.  I launch the material explorer and in the FIND textbox i type “*belt”.

Nothing happens?  Has anyone figured out how to locate a material with this thing? Can anyone explain some of the use cases of what this tool was designed to do?

Try opening the Select Menu and toggling the options - mine were ticked but it was responding as if they were not (and vice-versa).
