Hello everyone, i have a question about the garbage collector. I don’t know maxscript but have read that calling gc() can free up memory, but when i call it i don’t know what i am supposed to do with the numbers it displays, am i meant to use another command with them to delete them or sometihng ?, i have read the help files and it doesn’t say what you do with the numbers. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Those it displays in the Listener? Ignore them - I suspect most people do.
According to the 2011 help, “This function returns the number of bytes free in the Maxscript heap after collection”.

Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.
