For today’s visit, I need to say “thanks and well done” to everyone who ever helped build maxScript and the documentation (mostly Larry M. and Bobo, I think).
Reason? I’ve been trying to write a Photoshop script (javascript) over the last few days(!)… and the documentation is almost non-existent. For a company (Adobe) with such resources, this is disappointing. Some app-specific methods are not documented, very few code examples, etc. I won’t fault them for the general ECMA/JavaScript side-- that’s documented in abundance elsewhere. But—trying to do simple things (re-order layers, e.g.) has taken many trips to the one PS-Script forum I could find. Good help there, at least.
Maybe it’s just me, but I have done several Flash/ActionScript projects in the past that are more complex (including XML integration), and it’s been difficult to fathom the pShop script gestalt.

I guess another example of “you don’t know what you’ve got ‘till it’s gone”.

enough rant, back to work…

To be fair, I did today find a Photoshop Scripting Reference inside the Photoshop program directories. But, even with that , it’s pretty thin pickings…
