I would like to share a couple of pictures of a Fire Engine that I did in Hexagon 2.5. I have been working on this truck for over 3 years, as you can see the truck is not complete yet.

I would like to model this truck in 3ds max, however I’m having a hard time adjusting to 3ds Max, I found the PDF Tutorials little confusing mainly because I’m a visual learner .
From what I have seen of the 3DS MAX Modeling world, it’s appears that most users use “blueprints” to draw off of background. When I model an object, I only have a single picture and dimensions of the object to work with most of the time the dimensions are on a dimension table.

Based on the Pictures what part would you suggest that I try to model, so I can feel like I’m not spinning my wheels?

Thank you,

Well, I think you should ask yourself how you started the truck the first time around. It might be a logical place to begin. Look at what you know how to do in Max, then look at the parts of the truck and try to anylize if you would be able to make that part with the skills you have. If you are so new to Max that you don’t think you can make any of the parts without assistance, then just pick a part that looks fairly simple and start in. Go as far as you can, and post some questions when you get stuck.
