And yet after a year of study, no book will tell me the answer.

I’m watching and following all sorts of modeling tutorials, and admiring how TurboSmooth makes things look nice.
And I wonder what happens when one of these turbosmoothed models is exported to another program like Vue 6 or 7.

Does the smoothing only occur inside of Max? Or does Turbosmooth physically change the mesh so that I can export the model as an obj and it will look just as nice no matter what program I use afterwards?

Thanks

Adjusting smoothing with turbosmooth only occurs in Max. You can export the mesh to other programs, but not the actual Turbosmooth modifier. If you apply a turbosmooth modifier, the export of that object will be the object mesh after turbosmooth is applied, so you will have the more detailed mesh exported.

So the mesh is actually enhanced after export.

Thanks!
