hey
so im in my first year at uni, my scene is set in a forest. we are on a texturing assignment and it has to be stylised, so no photo realistic looking things.
at the moment i just have planes with bushes on that i modified in photoshop and opacity maps, to me it looks ok i guess but i was wondering what else i could do to make some bushes/shrubs.
i tried to experiment with particle flow but im not really sure how to make the leaves sit properly, like they always just rest on the object, rather than sticking out from base of the leaf.
does anyone know any good tutorials for this that i could get ideas from? or anyone on here ever make some nice foliage?
when i google this, i pretty much find nothing :(
thanks

no worries… I have used this program a few times, its only downfall is that it does not create a low-poly version of the trees it generates which i need for LODing, however for hi-res production its great.

haha thanks for the link, sorry didnt reply. Unfortunately i cant use this, we arent allowed to use plug ins or anything in our first year. Basic techniques only. So in the end i guess im sticking with using planes and opacity maps for bushes and scatter for tree leaves
