Ok, my model has a little problem that I overlooked. Apparently, I cannot separate the upperjaw from the lower jaw, more specifically the lips. How can I separate the two? Thanks. Below are the images that display my problem.

Not sure that I follow, are the lips welded together? If so then select the edge loop where they are welded and use the break command

The lips are not welded, but the vertecies are hard to get to.

Hide the verts or even the faces on the top while you work on the bottom and vise versa.

Select the ones you don’t want to see, scroll the Modify Panel down to the bottom of the Edit Geometry rollout and click Hide Selected. Remember to Unhide All when you’re done.

Or look in the modeling ribbon under the visability group if tools.
