I want to make over 99 clones, so I made my first object “Object_001”.  When I create an array, however, my second and so object is “Object_02”, “Object_03”, “...”.  I need to make it so All my clones have 3-digit suffixes instead of 2.  That way, when I’m looking for objects in the Layer Manager, They are listed in the correct numerical order ("Object_001", “Object_002”, ... “Object_099”, “Object_100”, “Object_101”, etc.).

Does anybody remember how to do this?

Please help, My project has been at a standstill for 2 hours!

I don’t think that is possible. It is possible to rename them after they are created though. There are any number of “rename” scripts around - try searching on scriptspot.com for starters.

A workaround using the Rename Objects tool.
Select the first 99 objects, start the Rename Objects tool. Make the Base Name “Object_0” and check Numbered. The clones 100 onward should already have 3 digits. If they are selected they end up with the extra 0 so have 4 digits.

I already renamed everything yesterday, but it was a real pain.  For some reason the Rename Tool gets buggy when you rename grouped objects, and I had 9 groups of 20 to rename in the correct numerical order!

Maya must be the program that does it.

But I HATE Maya.

(imprecise piece of...)
