First of all I would like to say, this my second try on getting answers on this topic but I believe my 1st try wasn’t clear enough and I have an additional question. (Maybe Screen Capture will help.)

The Pictures in order are....
A) The Object a Truck Wheel made in Hexagon 2.5
B) The OBJ Export menu for Hexagon 2.5
C) The OBJ Import Menu for 3ds Max 2010
D) The Object in 3Ds Max 2010

1. How can I improve the object for use in 3DS Max? I believe the Normals could be off.

2. Is there a List/Menu where I can see the Information that has circled in red in 3ds?

thanks,

1.  Improve how?  If the normals are incorrect, you can try using a Normal modifier and check the Unify Normals box.  But this does not always work correctly.

2. The “H” key toggles the Scene Explorer (or Select by Name dialog).  This can list a heirarchy of objects like your menu in red shows.
