I’ve been running into an issue while modeling when for some reason I can no longer select vertices, edges, etc., even though I’d been able to do so moments earlier. The only thing I can think of is I’m hitting some sort of command that for some reason locks the ability to select anything. Whatever is is that cause it, it’s something that has happened to me a number of times and it’s quite frustrating.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this to happen?

Try the Spacebar - it’s the keyboard shortcut for “Lock Selection”. Look at the bottom of the main Max window, just left of the X, Y and Z transform spinners - there’s a buton with a padlock on it. If that is active (pressed) then Lock Selection is active.

That’s almost certainly what I’m doing, gonna have to remember it ...or stop hitting the spacebar accidentally 8^)
