hi all
was wondering if you could advise on best techniques/tutorials for making rocks with 3d max? I’ve been given the task of creating an animation of rocks going through a rock breaker. The unbroken rock has to be irregular in size, shape, colour and texture. After they go through the rock breaker they can be reasonably uniform in size but still irregular in shape etc.
I’ve looked at the tutorials for particle array and the output seems too regular for this task - any suggestions?
thanks

Take a look at this thread: http://area.autodesk.com/forum/Autodesk-3ds-Max/modeling/creating-gravel/

Caprier has made a Script for breaking up objects. This would be perfect for shattering the rock after it has gone through the grinder.
