is the “Shapemerge” command not support the shape Helix?

The Shape Merge works on a 2D planar projection of a shape onto a surface, not a cylindrical projection like you would need here.
You could maybe do this with Spline modelling, starting with a helix the right size and adding the sides and applying a surface after.
Or you could use the Cut tool in Edit Poly, with careful placement of cut points, they can be adjusted numerically after, so where each cut intersects a side, it goes down by a set increment to create a uniform helix.

ShapeMerge works by projecting the shape along an axis. In your case, it doesn’t seem appropriate.
You can easily build your cylinder though. Duplicate a one-turn Helix several times, convert the first or last to an editable spline, attach the others in order, then add a CrossSection and a Surface modifiers.
Edit: ah… too slow… again...! :cheese:

Elaboration of the suggestion Samab already made:
Create Cylinder and Helix at the same place and the same data.
(See Attachnent.) You can use Keyboard Entry, Snaps or just the Align tool.
Use the helix as Guide to insert vertices at the right place on the Cylinder surface,
Connect them and you will have a merged Helix after a couple of minutes.
