Hey everyone,

I am fairly new to 3ds Max and I would like to know if there is a way to fix my model to get rid of the triangles within the faces. And how I may prevent these errors in the future.

Thanks,
Steven S

3DSMAX by default constructs all polygon faces using triangles. There is an option to display these triangles in the object-properties.

I believe the solution here is to click the “Retriangluate” button in the “Editable Poly => Polygon” rollout. This button will flip the direction of the triangles if 3DSMAX believes it’s current direction is giving unwanted results such as this. Failing this you can click “Edit Triangulation” and manually change the direction of the triangles in your faces.

those triangles occur when you has not flat polygon(making them flat will help you).

but if you’ll give you set same smoothing group to more than one polygon it will not show you that problem
