| Trouble attaching splines

i cannot seem to attach these 2 spline objects and weld the verts after they have been attached. Any1 have this problem b4?

Spline vertices can only have at most 2 segments attached to them - so, no “T” or “Y” junctions are possible. Only the vertices at the ends of a spline (sub-object) can be welded - turning 2 separate splines into one or an “open” shape into a “closed” one.
I can’t tell from the screenshot because of that long Tangent handle, but if there’s a segment running from the center of the object (vertically) to the vertex you have selected, then that’s your problem - the selected vertex would have 3 segments attached to it, which is not possible.

tHANKS IT WORKED. jUST A SUGGESTION, ON mAX 2011 THEY SHOULD LET YOU WELD MORE THAN JUST 2 VERTS

It never has done - try doing the “Modeling a Knight” tutorial which has shipped with Max since Version 5 - so I can’t see them changing it anytime soon (though you never know).
Depending on what you’re trying to achieve there may be better ways to do it.
