Some of you may know me from the tutorials I put out, especially on Ego Lounge, however I wanted to let everyone know that I’ve released a Max 101 DVD with the great guys at Eat3D. This DVD has over 20hrs of content and will walk viewers through a wide range of topics. I tried not to glance over topics to make sure that by the end of the DVD you can successfully pull together a complete scene, which is exactly what we do on the DVD. We create many different types of objects going over almost every method of modeling in Max. We cover texturing, materials, lighting, cameras, animation, rigging, constraints, etc. Basically, about 80% of what you see in the image below we create from scratch. I aimed to do all of this in detail with clear examples while also showing where things can go wrong. I don’t know about you, but I get really annoyed when things work perfectly for a presenter but going through the same steps yields different results. So, there’s a healthy dose of trouble shooting scenes and even how to clean up 3D party models/textures so they work well in your scene.
While the title does say 101, this DVD covers more than what many view as 101. So, if you’re interested, know someone who could use an complete introduction to Max, or someone who wants to brush up on some areas, spread the word.
Also, if you do encounter a problem or question please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks!
