Next NYC Max User Group Meeting will be held on Tuesday*, February 22nd from 7-9pm.

*Please note that this is a Tuesday night meeting - not our usual Thursday night.

Kim Lee will be doing a very special presentation that you will not want to miss!

Kim will give a presentation on Autostereoscopy - and featuring a project he did for Lexus - and he will bringing in the Special Equipment for us to see and Experience it!

We all know how 3D is impacting the world around us in the form of 3D movies w/glasses. And, now there is the big push for home theaters w/3D TVs and Glasses. So - I think you will all find Kim’s presentation quite inspiring!

As far as the equipment that Kim will be bringing, it will be a 42” Alioscopy 8-view autostereoscopic display.  In short, this system is a 3D monitor that doesn’t require glasses, targeted at the digital signage industry.  In addition to the demo material from Alioscopy, Kim will be showing a project his team completed for Lexus for the launch of their new car the CT200h, for a launch tour they are near the end of right now. Its about a minute long piece and he will probably show 1 or 2 shots in Max to show how they were done and go over how to make pre-rendered imagery for the display.

He will also be doing a little test file from scratch.  There’s a real-time solution/process for the monitor also that uses the graphics card, kinda like a game engine. If he has time enough before the meeting, he may prep something to demo that aspect, otherwise he will just talk about that functionality.

For those interested in seeing the 2D version of the Lexus piece - its on the Worldsaway website http://www.worldsaway.tv/ When you get to the site homepage, click on digital, then commercials, and its the 1st one on the top row left.  You will, however, need flash to view it.
