This is not “SPAM”.

If a link to a VERY good resource is considered to be a spam, then what is considered to be not a spam?

Right - before this gets out of hand…

I made no comment whatever about the site referred to in the original post. That site may well be of use - that is not the point -the post itself, IMO, is spam.  “Marcus357” clearly created an account here for the express purpose of advertising that site. Google shows some 1200 hits for that site the majority of which are single forum posts on 3d-related sites.

In other words he / they are using forums for free advertising and if that’s not spam I don’t know what is - unless you have a very different understanding of what spam is than I do.

Dear programmer,

You are probably not aware why textures are made. Textures are made for people. And the only one way to tell people where they can get them is forums and corresponding chats. Of course one may choose your proposed method and use paid advertising, but in this case good resource will become expensive and not available for the majority of people.
In my opinion spam is not a link to a good resource; spam is an unnecessary announcement or argument.

Kind Regards,
Marcus
