Is there any way I can get particles to move smoothly over a surface using Lock/Bond and Rotation-SpeedSpaceFollow? Every time a particle crosses an edge onto another poly, it jerks. No way to dampen that rotation?

Thanks
Mark

I have a similar problem.

I want to move the particles on a surface (like flowing energy). To do this, I used a “find target” test and spawned new particles followed by a “speed by surface” with “control speed continously” checked, and the direction set to “parallel to surface”.

That all works pretty well for a short time, but the particles are driven away from the object and i haven’t got the slightest clue why. Does anyone have a good solution for this?

Can you post the scene you’re working on? And what Max version you’re using.

post the scene file or get a snap shot of the particle viewer.
