Hi there,

I’m a beginner with particles but I’m going to have a deep look at it in near future.
so my question may be amateurish!

I’ve read “Particle Trees” tutorial you can find in 3ds max 2010 tutorials. hopefully you’ve read that.
I like to know is there anyway to move particles manually so that we position particles (trees in this particular scene) in desirable positions?

regards..

hi u can’t manually modify the position of the particles but u can use a map or select subobjects where u need the particles to be placed . The map uses a black n white map ,u can specify the areas where u need particles in white and the rest in black particles will be placed only on those areas . Or select the polygons of ur growth object wherever u need particles and using pflow or Parray u can fix the particles on selected subobjects ....

hope it helps :)

2010 & 2011 incorporated the particle flow tools box #1 plugin so you can also use the Particle Paint helper along with the Birth Paint or Placement Paint operators as another option.

Thanks man, yes.. I have been using Particle Paints since I found a shot about that (2010 new features) over the Autodesk website.
thanks for your reply.
