I have a tiny project to complete in short order and before starting I assumed it would be a cinch. I’m trying to create realistically falling paper money (loose bills). I’m hoping for realistic “flutter” and “feather falling” effects that I see when I drop real money. I haven’t tried simulating anything yet. I figured I’d plug for some suggestions first so I don’t waste a lot of time on what is a low-budget project.
Your help and ideas are appreciated.

I would do something like the file I’m posting.
Use a simple cloth setup and let gravity and wind do the work for you.
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I think it might work but getting the cloth properties right may take some work. Paper money tends to not deform on the micro level like most cloths would and tends to just bend slightly then tumble so I’ve been playing with the many object properties for cloth so far without much success, (although your settings are a decent start). I may end up creating a library of static (non-falling) “tumble” animations and dump then into a particle system and see what happens, or use some hybrid solution if I can’t get the cloth settings just right.
Still working on it..,
