In the “Menus” list of, both, the “Quads” and “Menus” tabs, I have multiple listings of the e-on software “Vue8 xStream” items. I’m using Vue8(64) on Max2010(64) but, it also occurred with Max2009(64) and Max2009(32). Each time I open Max, the number of duplicates increases by 1. Currently, with my Vue8x plugin, the number of duplicates is up to 18. On my old Max2009 installation the number got up to about 200. It seems that the duplications are coming directly from the “MaxStartUI.mnu” file (see attachments). “mnu01...” and “mnu02...” depict the mnu file before and after a Max re-start. They show the last listing of “MenuName="Heightfield Terrain” in the file.
When I deleted the extra listings in “MaxStartUI.mnu,” Max failed to start, acted erratic, and forced me to close it with the “Task Manager.” When I made the file “Read Only,” Max failed to start and gave the message depicted in the CustomMenuError file for which I attached the error message.
It seems that, as Max is starting, it reads a file, which I haven’t been able to locate, and adds all of the items for “Vue 8 xStream” plugin to items in the “Customize User Interface. Each Vue menu item is increased by one, in the list.
This seems similar to previous problems with Max’s “Additional Help” menu, that I, and a few others, have had in the past. Each time Max opened, it added an additional help selection for all of the listed plugins. The solution for that was to make the plugin “.ini” files “Read Only.”
Does anybody know what is adding items to the problem lists and how I can stop it? Thanks.
