I have a scene where all the objects were imported via the
FBX importer (v2011.2).
Now, I’d like to update one of the objects with data from
a more recent FBX file. I tried the “Update scene elements”
and “Add and Update scene elements” import modes but
neither of them does anything. No error messages or
warnings on screen or in the log, just nothing happens, the
object I intend to update remains the same.
If I import the newer FBX file into an empty scene, save
it, open the main max file and use the “Replace” import
functionality to update the object then stuff works as
expected. However, I’d like to skip the extra step and
update meshes right from FBX files.
