Is it possible to import Lego Digital Designer files into 3ds max design 2011? I’m having to model each individual brick and it is taking forever to create my scenes. It would be much faster if there was a plugin or something to import them. The file type is .lxf. Thanks!

I found a tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjOKTw18K_I&NR=1. I can get get up to the point where you copy the ui over but the category koichsenada doesn’t show up in my “customize user interface” box.. In the readme, it says that it has been tested on 3ds max 2009 but I have 3ds max design 2011. Might this be my problem?

Hi guys,
Your discussion was quite interesting.  I’m trying to do the same.  Eagleeyedan, would you be so kind to tell me the details of your solution?
Thanks.

I found a way to import this content to 3ds max : open a .ldr file saved with lego designer with Leocad (http://code.google.com/p/leocad/), and then you can export to .3ds format, wich is conveniently readable by 3ds max ! :)

No love here, When attempting to open the file in LeoCAD, it just stalls out.  did you do anything in particular to prep the file?
