Hello,

I’m having a couple of problems with the latest FBX Importer.

First, why can’t I choose to export my character with an fbx_root, like the previous importers did ? Have I missed a step ?
Secondly, when I export my character and opened it in Motion Builder, even if I can see my mesh in the schematic view, it’s invisible in the viewport :( I tried to see it came from a scale factor problem, but it doesn’t. The scale factor is correct.

Have you even come across this problem ?
Thank you for your help.

Ok, second problem solved. I can now see my mesh in Motion Builder. It seems to be due to a bug in the fbx exporter.

I had a skeleton composed of bones and dummies. Logically, in the fbx exporter dialog, you have to check in the option Geometry used as Bones so that Motion Builder shows these dummies. But for some reason, checkining this in FBX exporter 2009 causes the bug that I had, that is, my mesh wasn’t visible in my MB viewport. Weird!

Now I export my mesh without checkining Geometry used as Bones. I then have to go to the Null Settings of my dummies to change the Look to Cross, instead of the default None.
