Hi guys!
this is my first thread here, these few weeks back I’ve been acquainting myself more with MAX and basics of rigging and animating in it.
CAT is truly interesing idea but unfortunately with it’s track record of known issues I decided to skip using it for now. I’ve been building my custom rig since that decision.
But, FK-driven IK logic is totally inspirational so my question is :

is it possible to construct the same thing in custom rig ?!?
if it is, is there some tutorials that cover that portion of rigging in MAX ?!?
any help is appreciated :)

thank you !

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but this tutorial showed me how to use FK/IK with CAT. http://www.digitaltutors.com/11/training.php?pid=575&autoplay=1

Did you see the tutorial on the plugin?
He did post a thread on The Area about it a while back, that’s where I heard about it, but I can’t find it right now.

It isn’t quite the same but here is a tutorial on creating an IK FK switch with default max systems.

http://penproductions.ca/tutorials/IKFKarm/IKFKarmSetup.html

Creating what is in CAT with Max bones and default IK is not 100% possible as CAT is doin things under the hood that is not normally allowed. This is also the case with the IK FK solver.
