Hey there,

I have a 2-bone HI Solver IK I’m using for some twist joints and I find that when the controls driving the IK target are keyed, the bones being driven by the IK aren’t consistently updated.
If the driving control is waggled a bit, then the bones pop back into place, but this is annoying and unnerving for animators.

Has anybody run into this sort of thing before?  If so, is there a remedy?

I’m using Max 2010 x64.

Thanks,

Alec

What is the scale of your rigs? Try lowering the thresholds on the IK solver and see if that corrects it.

Hey Paul.
I’ve tried adjusting the threshold from it’s default of 0.1 to 0.01 and 0.001 and also increasing the threshold with the same results.
I’m using this with CAT and I’m wondering if maybe that’s a problem.

That could be the issue but I’m not sure. CAT has lots of issues, I know that much but I would be surprised if this is just an IK solver issue. What else is going on in the rig? If you unlink it form the rest of the rig do you still see the same problem?
