ive looked everywhere but cant seem to find Visual C++ 9.0 which is what the documentation says i should use for 3ds max 2010.
does anyone know where i could dowload this?
im getting my Visual studio 2008 today. does it come with that?

Yup, VC++ 9.0 = 2008
After the setup extracts itself (by default to C:\Autodesk), you can find the VC redists here:
C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_3ds_Max_2010_English_Win_32-64bit\support\VCRedist\
VC redists can also be downloaded from microsoft.com.
