Hello.
Generally I am satisfied with the newest Max version, but I have found some new bugs which sometimes irritates me during an ordinary work day.
Of course I’ve been sending error reports whenever these bugs causes a crash, but a crash is not always following a bug, which is why I’m posting them here.
1. Vertices doesn’t update correctly when target welded at times.
2. Soft selection completely fails at times. No selection can be made during the rest of the session.
3. Controls for panning around the viewport, fails at times. This happens quite often and is usually triggered when CTRL+ALT+middle mouse button is used to zoom in.
4. A general optimization of the tool Cut in edit poly. It happens very often that vertices is not welded together which gives the user the impression that the cut has been done correctly but actually two vertices is just placed exactly at the same spot in the 3D space.
5. When performing multiple undo steps, about 50, crashes, may occur. Usually within an editable poly object. I don’t recall this crash in earlier versions of Max and I have been running Max with 500 undo levels in the past. :)
6. Dummies and camera objects are rarely drawn correctly in the viewport. Whenever another object is behind the dummy or camera, that object is drawn on top although being behind it. The lines are simply drawn behind the underlying object. The is a very irritating bug.
That was some of the bugs I have experienced AND written down. A lot of other bugs have revealed themselves over time, but I’ll leave them to you guys to discover. :)
