Hi Everybody
I was a 3d studio user since 3d studio 2 (not Max) I refer to the DOS version
And I was very impressed wen first max came out.
But the problem is MS Windows.
This OS in not very stable, I remember try to run max3 in win98. it was so painful!!!!
the crashes are not tolerable for a serious production.
Xp has less crashes but is not a good OS anyway and Vista Simply use all your PC resources to run it’s windows manager.
Finally after more than a decade being a loyal user I drop 3DS. and switch to Maya in Linux and Mac.
In those time It was alias Maya Now Is Autodesk too.
I use a minimalistic Linux desktop at render time, is much faster than have the full KDE or Gnome running.
So too unleash the really power of your hardware, the horrible ram administration of windows is not a choice.
I think a 3ds max port to Linux and Mac will be a cool improvement for this software.
and the same apply to Mudbox and all other Autodesk Products.
Native Linux and Mac support (As Maya) will turn any program a more professional choice.
I hope some one else think the same. (Specially inside Autodesk)
Best regards

Yes, Autodesk should make that smart step, like Adobe did, and make their products available for Mac users.

PLEASE?!
Please don’t force us to switch to Cinema 4D.
They have both, Windows and Mac versions of their software.
Adobe has both, Windows and Mac versions of their programs.
Autodesk should do the same.
I’m not going to switch back to Windows. Once you go Mac there is no way back.
