I have found this script for Maya that works in a very interesting way, “Smoot Final Gather 0.5.1”:

http://www.highend3d.com/maya/do...ot-Final-Gather-3751.html

I do not use Maya so I’m unable to test it, but I think that this could be a really powerful way to create animations with final gather.

Basically it creates separate FG maps for every n frames, then it blends then together to produce all the frames in between. This creates a unique map for EACH frame (as opposed to the standard “freeze” method, which accumulates one map for the whole scene, ie non time dependent).

Supposedly when the correct settings are used this can create great results in scenes where objects and camera move, with very low FG settings. Normally the only way to do this is with very high FG settings, rendering every frame.

Anyone agree?

I want this for Max.....

Oliver
