I totally agree.  I am seriously considering abandoning 2010 and reverting to 2009 and this is one of the 2 or 3 big reasons why.  (others being lack of Nvidia Performance driver, and goofy interface changes).

I’d like to draw your attention to this poll

Good idea. I see no one like this “new Feature"…

My company just buy 2010 license. So I’m obliged to use 2010. But I prefer 2008 for the viewport and less bugs…

And for the Quadro performance driver? Nothing…

...and another vote from my side as well
Does actually ANYBODY from Autodesk read these threads and polls? It’s a bit annoying that such a fundamental and really time consuming feature can’t be fixed easily. If Autodesk is not willing to do so please let us know as well. Because then I need to recalculate all of my upcoming jobs and have to get prepared to explain to our clients why the same job now takes longer AND therefore costs more money…

But I still want it fixed.

I’m using it already… but it’s just a work around.
And yes I want to have it fixed by Autodesk as well :)
Can’t be that difficult I think if you have access to the code…

My god this bug is annoying, why on earth did Autodesk change the way viewports work? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What used to take one keystroke now takes more than 2 - awesome progress

This shouldn’t even need to be on a wishlist - it used to work absolutely fine and is now broken

FIX IT!

I agree, it needs to go back to the way it was. For those who like it as it is (there are 2 of you, after all), just set 3 viewports to user, maximize the remaining vp, then you will have 2010 vp behaviour. There was no reason for AD to do this, as it wasn’t on any wish list, and AD heasn’t responded to explain the change, so it was just somebody’s missguided brainfart.

You would be much better off reading this blog, signing up, and voting somewhere where AD will actually take any notice of the votes cast. Really no need for another poll thread on this subject.
