Hi All,

So I’m working with a character using CAT in MAX, and exporting to FBX for Unity engine. There are a whole bunch of animations, but they all play exactly as intended in the max file, looping perfectly and so forth…

The issue is that whenever I export to fbx, there is something off about the animations...almost as if at the very end of a selected set of frames, theres a jerkiness or something. The effect looks as if in the selection of playback frames I included a frame that shouldnt be in that animation, however this is not hte case. If I scrub through, all the frames are exactly as they should be...it’s as if max is glitching and playing a half frame or something...Im really not sure what’s going on, since I’ve checked the timewarp and time code, and all is 30 fps, and no timewarp or anything. Quite confused.

Weirder still, is that if I export each animation into its very own fbx, they loop perfectly...this only happens when they are in one timeline together.

Does anyone know about FBX doing weird things with timing or looping glitches or anything of what I’m discussing?

I’ve attached an fbx, where if you set the playback frames from 1-91, you’ll notice some irregular jitteriness around the hands and arms right as it loops. You can view the max file to see that this doesnt happen in those frames in the max file, and maybe see another issue that could be causing this.

Thanks for any help!

Hello Zander024!

It seems that you forgot to attach your file.  Once we get your file, we’ll start looking into your problem.  The things you are describing seem to be familiar, but I can’t say anything right now until we get your file into the software.

Cheers!
Carlos
