Just downloaded FBX Converter 2012.1 x64 for Mac and converted a .dae file to fbx. I now need to convert the fbx file to a .3ds format so I can import the model into Photoshop CS5 on a 3d layer (Photoshop mangles .dae files but handles 3ds files fine).

Can’t seem to locate the 3ds format (or it’s not available) in the “Destination file options” dropdown menu on the lower right part of the program’s interface window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi SgtSlick !....

The FBX Converter 2012 can convert from, but not to .3ds format, 3ds Max itself can save out .3ds files ( and it supports importation of FBX files....)

Failing that, the only place you may be able to locate a converter ( no promises here...) for your needs ( that I know of ) would be here:

_http://www.3dlinks.com/3D_Converters.cfm

I hope this helps !....
