Hi I have a problem when exporting a model created in 3dsmax 2010, when this model is placed in position Y.

I placed the Axis plugin options -> Z-up, not working,
how can I export the model to maintain Z-Up?

Hi Lynxcraft,

With 3ds Max 2010, which version of the plug-in are you using?  That application ships with version 2009.4 and we currently have version 2010.0 available on our http://www.autodesk.com/fbx website.

I tested Z-Up on my end and everything seems to be working fine with versions 2010.0 and 2009.4.  If you select Z-Up, then Y-Up, and then once again Z-Up in the FBX Exporter User Interface, do you get the correct result?  Please let me know if this is the case.

And how are you finding out that you are still exporting Y-Up instead of Z-Up?  Are you importing into a different program?  Are you reading the ASCII file?  If you’re importing into Maya, which operates by default in Y-Up, the importer will automatically convert the up-axis to match Maya’s (converting from Z-up in the file, to Y-Up in Maya).

Thanks,

I suppose I’ve found bug in FBX exporter 2010.0 in 3D studio Max 2010.

In exporter dialog window, if you set MANUALLY Y-up axis option, everything works ok.

But if you don’t touch this option, combobox is seted to value “Z up”, but it export as “Y-up”:

GlobalSettings:  {
(...)
Properties60:  {
Property: “UpAxis”, “int”, “”,1
(...)
}

Could you confirm it?
Thanks in advance
