I’m having difficulty getting locator information from an FBX file that was exported using the default exporter from Maya 2012 (I think! - it might be 2011 though).
The nodes the locators are under are present and correct, but they are positioned at the origin and have an identity transform, and don’t appear to have any KFbxNodeAttributes that obviously corresponding to the locators. (Judging by the docs, I was expecting a KFbxMarker.)
Does the Maya FBX exporter export locator information?
Thanks,

Hello Tom!
Yes the plug-in supports the “Locator” information. In your file you should see a NodeAttribute of type: “Null”.
However, the option “Export Cameras” has to be enabled too if you want to have the locator “look”. If not, the locator will be exported as a simple transform without the NodeAttribute and will, most likely, be invisible once re-imported into Maya.
The KFbxMarker is a totally different object (this is used for optical markers and they do not represent Locators).
As for the problem of the nodes being at the origin, I have not been able to reproduce it with 2012.1, which is the default version of the plug-in that comes with Maya 2012. Could you please run your scenario again using the latest version of the plug-in? (2012.2) Also, let us know if it was the version which came with Maya 2011. There were lots of issues and bugs that were fixed between versions 2011.3 and 2012.2.
You can find the plug-in here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=10775855
Cheers!
