Hi,

Is there any solution to export particles from max to maya besides baking out the particle.
And also I have the problem matching up the camera between max and maya.

Thankyou

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

For now, unfortunately particles are not directly supported by the FBX SDK, so the only way to export them would be by baking them, as you already are.  Out of curiosity, which application are you creating the particles in?

Regarding the camera issues you’ve been facing, I’d like to know more.  There are certain, but few, known limitations.  Are you exporting from 3ds Max or Maya?  To get you started, here are the 3ds Max to FBX to Maya Supported parameters:

-Lens (converted to FOCAL LENGTH
-FOV (converted to ANGLE OF VIEW)
-FOV Direction (
-Orthographic Projection
-Type (Target & Free)
-Manual Clipping Planes
-Near Clipping Plane
-Far Clipping Plane
-Target Distance
-Camera Position, Roll (X-Axis rotation)

Again, let me know what the problems are that you’re facing with the matching between both applications and I’ll look into it further with you.

I see David’s already answered your question in another post; http://area.autodesk.com/for...rom-maya-to-max/, so let us know if you have further concerns.
