Nothing will export to FBX from 2012 for me. The FBX Export Options dialog box won’t appear either, no matter if I type out the command or go to export from the File/A menu. What is going on?

Hello PSStein!

Unfortunately, we cannot help you.  I reccomend you go to the ACAD Arch forums and tell them about your problems.  This FBX forum is for the FBX plug-in that is used in Maya and 3ds Max.  Software such as AutoCad, Softimage and even Mudbox use our SDK to build their own plug-in which is then integrated into the software.  How FBX gets integrated is up to the developers of the individual software.  They would be the ones ideally to help you.

You can find the ACAD Architecture forums here:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Architecture/ct-p/56

I did a quick search for FBX and there seems to be several discussions.

I hope this helps,
Carlos

Thanks Carlos. It seems, according to this thread: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Au...ight/true#M33649, that FBX export is useless.

Wow. I am just floored on this issue. I just, not more then a few days ago, finished a presentation on converting to a BIM based solution, and disruption of FBX support from ACAD destroys the planned workflow. The DWG/DXF format is just simply not sufficient for our needs.  Thanks for responding back PSStein.

I believe FBX currently only supports 3D shapes. Are you trying to export 2D Data?

Everything was modeled in 3D. I am quite puzzled by this.
