So according to the latest SDK / Extensions SDK docs i can create extensions for FBX 5 and 6, whereas the current is Version 7 ? Seems a tad weird.
And given i can create extensions for 5/6 am i right that i can create extensions with the current ExtensionSDK that still work with 2008 ?

Hi Thorsten,
We did not update the Extensions SDK for FBX 7 format yet, but yes it is on the roadmap.
Extensions SDK only works with FBX plug-ins for Maya 2009, 2010 and 2011.
