Hi,

How can I obtain face culling information from node/geometry?

In some of my test files (obj, dxf) parts of meshes are flipped. I checked matrices, vertex order etc, and all seems to be OK.
FBX file works correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Brzeg,

We don’t store culling data in node/geometry in either memory or file.
If you got problem with some obj/dxf file reading or display, would you please attach your sample files so that we can check whether it is issue in SDK or not?
Thank you.

Import the obj in maya:
Check the attachment for screenshot
And I can not find any face flipping though.

Your wavefront .obj file says it was generated from CINEMA 4D.

If this model was originally a NURBs or some surface that was converted into a polygon mesh on export, then you may have flipped faces.  You probably need to fix it in Cinema 4D?

Thank you for answers.

I tried import it into Max 2010 (with the newest FBX). And in viewport it looks ok because it seems to be rendered as two sided material. But when I use renderer real face culing occurs. See atachment.

Your .obj file also has flipped faces, so I don’t see what that has to do with FBX.
You never explained where your model originally came from or how it was created,
which would explain why you have flipped faces in the first place.
