Hi Dario,
I wonder if you can give me (and many other on this forum) some informations about the correct import of bindpose and animations of FBX files!
Thanks!

Hello,

Currently TNGViewer only imports keyframe animation from FBX files: the import of skinning animation is scheduled for a future revision.
Having said that, we are not doing anything special to import bind poses… what kind of information are you looking for?

Ciao,
Dario

Hello everybody,

We have released a major update to TNGViewer, featuring several new import options in the Preferences dialog, plus a fallback Direct3D 9 renderer for Windows machines without decent OpenGL drivers.

As usual, you can select the ‘Check For Updates...’ option in the TNGViewer Help menu to download the latest release.

Enjoy,
Dario

Hello again,

We have just released a major update to TNGViewer, featuring greatly improved support for keyframe and bone/skinning animation.

We currently do not support the eADDITIVE cluster deformation mode.  We are more than willing to add support for this kind of deformation—we just lack quality test data, that is, animated FBX files appropriate for testing.

Enjoy,
Dario

Very nice viewer.  My only comment would be that it would be nice to see some sort of progress bar loading models.  I loaded the attached model and it I thought the viewer hung, it took so long to load.

Thanks Doug.

I am trying to switch to 2011.2 after Zhihao fixed the release crash but I am finding that some bones are not rotating properly (as they used to in 2010.x)…

Ciao,
Dario

Do you have a model that shows this issue?

I noticed that when you drag and drop a model, it checks the extension to determine the files type.  This check fails if there are two periods in the file name.

feline.2k.obj is not recognized as an obj file, for example.
