Well, it has now been almost 1 year since we raised this issue and I was wondering if AutoDesk has come up with a solution?

Do we have functioning OpenGL sample code?

Also, with the release of OpenGL 3.3, 4.0 and 4.1, has anyone updated the code to remove the fixed function pipeline?

One final question, are we still limited to a static lib?

Hello m210, we did some improvement to ViewScene, especially for lighting and texture mapping, and it will be out in the coming release.
I tested with the file with the texture mapping problem in this post, it works fine now in this new version of ViewScene.

As for your last question, since 2011.3, FBX SDK provided dynamic libraries:

wow, now I see it! the 1st answer here has come 1 week later and was not really an answer. is there really customer support for FBX SDK?

by the way, I could provide an OpenGL-rendering sample, based on trial and error over the ViewScene sample, with lighting and normals included, but it is probably no more needed.

Hello roumenf,
Glad to know you would like to contribute a sample, you could simply share it on AREA.

And sorry for the late reply, since we only count on several developers and experienced FBX users to help people out here, so whenever there is a tight release schedule, developers may have no extra time to answer questions here.
But for sure we will try to improve this, thank you for your feedback.
