Hi I have a few queries regarding IM, and also it’s future

1- Why isn’t it possible to export the adjusted, undistorted images from IM back to Maya? IM is clearly correcting for distortion in the viewport, yet ultimately if it doesn’t export this out in any way, it’s useless. It’s fair enough that there’s a K3 distortion value but no documentation or support for using this value back in Maya is available

2 - do you recommend undistorting lens prior to bringing it into IM?

3- what’s the future of IM ? Is it still supported or being developed? Are you planning an alternative?

Have you seen this?

Not exacrtly intended for production use though is it ? Photos are uploaded to photofly servers, I’m sure clients would have a field day with that, nor would anyone who wants privacy of data.

Looks great though! How about a commercial version production houses can use and do the solve on their render farms ?

I can only guess at what Autodesk’s intentions are, but this labs project may be a hint to what they have planned for image based modeling.
