Hi,
I am modeling a number of rather large buildings on my schools campus (University of South Florida in Tampa) and I have a problem with a lot of trees and other campus buildings getting in the way. The viewing angles which allow me to see whole facades are very limited. As a result I have yet to have a successful Imagemodeler project (I’m on my 6th try and nothing is helping). I have taken as many shots as I can with the same focal length and I have created a number of exterior panoramas of the facades using Stitcher which I then imported into Imagemodeler as Cubic QTVR (exported at 4000 x 4000). I do not know if Imagemodeler will calibrate from these, but aside from that I have about 12 “overall” images which show 3 corners of the building and about 180 “partials” that I used to build the panos. I don’t have an SLR so I’m using a Sony DSC-S980 at 12 megapixels. My panos vary between 3 and 14 stitched shots taken with a tripod. I am up to about 40 Locators placed with most of them spread across at least 8 images each and yet no calibration solution. And if I even think about trying to introduce a corner constraint and calibrate the whole project blows up.
If anyone has any idea what I can do to get this to work I am all ears. I have been going back and forth between Imagemodeler and Photomodeler Scanner and neither are giving any results so I’m obviously doing something very wrong, but damn if I know what it is.
Many thanks.
