Hello group!

Tell us what you think about the new release of Lustre 2010 and its feature set.  Have you experienced the new Degrain tool?  What about multi-layered timeline interchange with Smoke and Flame 2010x1?

Have a nice Lustre day!!!

i love the 2010 release so far… and we are using the new degrain feature every day on our productions.... so a big thx for that… even if i would like to see something like an automatic analyze function for the whole timeline, like the scene detection, but only for the grain settings… dont search for it adsk, i requested that already on the forums :)

Z800 is only supported on Linux OS.  Not plan for Windows.

Stephane,
Thank You for Your answer.

However, Your answer leeds to very important question:

Since last windows machine HP XW8600 is END OF LIFE,
how can windows systems owners update to current software (2010) and hardware (z800+5800sdi),
since You said that z800 is not supported and there are no plans for it.

Regards

The HP XW8600 is not end of live.  We do not sell this workstation anymore since the Z800 is the replacement hardware.  But you still have software upgrade available.  Currently, Lustre 2010 runs on HP8400, HP8600 and Z800.  So, you have the right hardware to run the latest release.

You have many options:
-convert your HP8600 Win station to Linux (look with Autodesk Support for the details)
-upgrade your system to Z800

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I guess you would have an upgrade from Windows to Linux for free to come with it! :D
Seriously, having all the systems on Linux makes a lot of sense, you can potentially run a Backdraft Conform, a Smoke or a Flame on the same box which is really cool, and the whole network thing flies better. You could even run a local Burn (but that ain’t officially supported).
The only problems I see when switching to Linux are the small freewares we have on Windows to ease our lives that are not available on Linux, the transfer of licenses when you have a SAN client, and the sometimes not-so-nice and sluggish GUI that come with the Red Hat distro.

Hi Team,

In lustre 2010_sp2 i am getting problem in diamond keyer. Sometimes its performing properly and sometimes not ( For example :- when i do a keying in some area using the Diamond key, we graded as blue color, but when i am playing with control/ Surface Panels the entire frame is getting blue. If I play move manually(frame by frame),It works properly . I’m so confused about this behavior in the application.

If the said problem is a bug in the software it should show all the time, but the criteria is not like that. So require some urgent help on this issue. If this cannot be rectified is there any alternate way to solve this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shiva

DISSOLVES are not working with REDRAW files from wiretap.

Just a stupid question, why would you need dustbusting on RED footage?
I think the dissolves are working. Is it something you’ve seen on your machine?

You can successfully clean dead pixels with that tool.
