Hi,
I am a Lustre newbie but am really enjoying working with it.  I do have a couple of questions that I need answered before my grade session on Thursday.  Most our our work is HD1080 p so we work in Linear mode.

I have worked with DS for many years and just getting into Lustre.

I can not find these answers in the manuals or
online. I’m hoping someone can guide me.

1. Is there a way of doing a direct channel adjustment in Lustre. For
example, let’s say I have a slight green cast to the image.
I know I can use the curves to remove it, but sometimes I like to
attack the Green channel and reduce it numerically by a couple of
percent.
So Red is 100 Green is 95 Blue is 100.  Is there a way to do this
feature.  I’m used to DS and they have that feature, just looking for
it in Lustre.

2. This is a weird one, When I apply a grade to a geometry in a secondary, and add a 2nd
geometry, the 2nd Geormetry automatically picks up the grade from the
first geometry and when I adjust the grade on the 2nd geometry the
first geometry gets adjusted.
I thought I had independent control, but now it seems I don’t. I don’t remember seeing this in Lustre 2010 prior to the service pack update, but I might be wrong.

3. Is there a colour match feature. (again sorry to compare) but on DS
I can select a “from colour” and select a “to colour” based on any
channel combination an I can easily create a match.  It even has
natural match so that luma does not get changed.
Does this exist in Lustre?  Keep in mind I’m working in a Linear
environment not Log.

Thanks so much in advance for any information you have on this.
Cheers
Jeff

Hello Jeff,

1. I do not know of a way to adjust the channel by typing in a numerical value.  If you use the ACS panels, you can gesturally adjust each channel and see a numerical change in the animation tab.

2.  That’s the way it is.  The grade affects the entire secondary, not just the geometry.  You can reduce the effect of the grade by adjusting the opacity of your geometries individually.

3. There is a color match feature, or should I say a colour match feature.  If you select help and search “match colour”, you should find it.

Hope this helps.

1. The only way to adjust separate channels ‘numerically’ is using the printer point function in log mode and using the numerical keypad on the keyboard where you can add and subtract RGB and CMY by presses.
2. As previous answer.
3. Forgotten the question

Hey Jeff,
that would be great to have you on the next beta, as a lot of your requirements have been there for a long time but most of us just go without it and forget. As you’re still fresh, you would have the right questions :-)
