Hello,

Film stock itself has look characteristics which are digitally replicated via the print LUT.  A print LUT, also known as a display LUT, shows you what your media will look like when it is finally put on film and photochemically processed.  With a LUT like this enabled on your software, you can predict what the image will look like and make visual adjustments accordingly.

It is important to understand that this LUT, used in this manner, is typically just for display and will not be rendered into the result image. The photochemical processing of actual film will take care of that result.
