Hello there,

I have a problem - probably due to inexperience - and I hope you can help me with it:

There are 3 files with animations and I want to combine all three in 1 file (with animation layers).
I tried to extract the animation from the BaseAnimation layer and to export/import it in a new file, but it doesn’t work.

This is my first time, I work with animation layers. Therefore I read the online help-files. But still, I don’t get it.
Even if I try to extract the animation (keyframes) from the BaseAnimation to a layer and mute it - the animation is still shown.
When I import one of the other animation layers, they aren’t shown either. Its still only the BaseAnimation that can be seen.

So I thought “maybe the keys are not on the BaseAnimation at all” - I tried to create a new layer from them, muted it and it can still be seen.

Don’t know how to explain it further - I’m sorry!
I need to have all three animations in one file and mute/unmute them.

Thank you in advance!

did you want to preserve the animation layers? Id recommend merging all animation layers onto the base layer
http://download.autodesk.com/us/...htm,topicNumber=d0e288590

then exporting/importing between scenes shouldnt be an issue.

Hope that helps.

Yes, I want to preserve the layers, because I want to mute them, so that I can only see the one I need at the moment.

Thank you for the answer, I will give it a try!
