Cannot animate some attributes

According to the Help documentation, to animate the change of color or transparency we simply just need to set key by right click. However, when I right click on the color box or on the slider in the attribute editor, the pop down menu doesnt appear, rather it just allows me to change the color as I do when I left click, and therefore I cannot set key. Anybody has any idea why?

You need to close that color history window first, then right click on the ‘color’ attribute to Set Key…

I closed and right clicked. Not working.

are you right-clicking on the label (word) or the slider?
